Hihi Gorgeous! Did you have a good weekend?
How have you celebrated Chinese New year?
It seems like I've celebrated Chinese New Year the most heavily this year with the most number of socials! So popular, geeesh. ;) Whats been great about these socials are that they are so different in their own way, from bigger parties, to intimate gatherings with close friends, to spending quality time with the family.
One of the first CNY events I went to was a small party where there were live acoustic performances, a buffet of food, and lanterns at the end to light off! There were around 120 people so it was buzzing and the atmosphere was really great. It was an occasion to dress up for too which made it even more fun! Gotta love a dress up. It was quite special for me because I got to perform a solo song which I had prepared for a few months. I performed an acoustic version of super bass. :) With the touch of the cajon and the guitar, it was so much fun to do! I also got to do it with a few of my closest friends which was very sentimental. Unfortunately, the quality of the video is completely sheeet so I won't upload. I'll try to record it again at home with my friends to show you guys!! ^^
Aside from this party, I've also been to a few more intimate gatherings with my closest friends. Even if all we did was hotpot around a small rice cooker, it was the banter and good chat that made it memorable and so enjoyable! *pity the water never boiled in the rice cooker though =_= My flatmate was up all night because her stomach was so weak! SO cham right?!
Definitely 100% most important was when I went back home for the weekend, to celebrate Chinese New Year with my family! Ultimately, I think that's what Chinese New Year is all about; Spending time with loved ones, eating the 'toon yoon fan', sending and receiving good wishes from friends and family, and ofc, the lucky red envelopes! ££ ^_~
I was initially planning to head back on Saturday, but decided to surprise my parents and come back on Friday night! Mama's face when I walked in was so hilarious. Such wide eyes like an owl! *_*
My father had filled the house with Chinese New Year decorations, from posters to the Clementine tree. Bless him! My home is now a velly velly Chinesey home!
Over the weekend in a nutshell, I went to see 'The Impossible' with cousins, dined and ate some highly calorific food at TGI Fridays and enjoyed a competitive game of badminton with the mother. I FINALLY managed to beat her after all these years. Wooohoo, I should really be a little shamed since she is after all more than double my age.... haha
[I really recommend 'The Impossible' by the way, biggest tearjerker ever. Even for me, where I rarely cry for films! It is so so touching! ]

Official CNY Dinner with my dear family! ^^
I really thought last week that the bad weather had finally ended and that Spring was round the corner, until Sunday afternoon, when this happened:
WTH?! NOOOO. Keep warm guys. This snow has to come to an end sometime! =_= We will get through these tough times together.
Have a fabbylocious CNY, whether you're spending it with your friends or family....or even alone!
Wishing you a healthy, and prosperous year of the snake! *soz for cliche-ness! May you get even more beautiful! (unless you're hot already, that would just be unfair) ^_~ Lots of love <3

Pretty girl, Gung hay fat choy! Sorry if I butchered the word. :))
