Good morning sunshine!
Well, what can I say? London was so amazing, the people dressed well, the food was delicious, the scenery was gorgeous. After this trip, I know for sure I aspire to work in London in the future! The place is just buzzing. I'm definitely a city girl!
I went with Eunhye to London for a few days just for a small city break. We stayed at a hotel just opposite Kings Cross Station so it was super convenient going everywhere!
For the trip, Eunhye wanted to do all the touristy things, like the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Abbey Road, Buckingham Palace etc etc. I did all these things when I went to London a few years back but my memory was a little blurred, so it was pretty nice going to all these places again!
Out of all the main attractions I went to, my ultimate favourite place was Camden Town. (Yes, I even liked this place more than Chinatown O_o) It reminded me of the markets in HK where you could haggle for prices! It was my first time visiting Camden market, and I was just in awe. The clothes were so similar to that on the high street, with so many vintage clothes, jewellery and bags on sale for a margin of the price! I went a little mad buying quite a few shirts, show you next time la!
There were lots and lots of food stalls in this area. Behind each stand would be someone trying to lure you in to buy some of their foods. The food looked so delicious and very tempting, not greasy at all. Just calorific!
In front of each stall was a demonstration of what you could get. Check the size of this burger!! O_o We also so deep fried chocolate bars, they even do oreo. Oh my...
What I realised after going to Camden is how much I suck at the art of haggling! Dang it, must brush them up before hitting MK in Hong Kong next year. I get quite intimidated by the sales people and feel bad if I go too low. Haha. I managed to haggle an iphone cover from £8 to £3 though which I was pretty proud of...until I realised it was for an Iphone 5 and I have a 4S. >< #sorpor
The salesman who sold me it was pretty funny 'Because you beautiful, ok, £3. Any colour, you choose. And now, for you, how much you cost? I love Chinese.' wuuuut!
There were lots of old school scooters you could sit on while eating your food. So cute eh?
Of course, we ate like cllaaazy in London too. Since we walked so much, I didn't really feel bad for it. haha. Below is a restaurant we ate at called the Slug and lettuce.
Crazy story: So below, was when Eunhye and I decided to go for dinner at the Slug and Lettuce after visiting the London eye. After dinner and paying, I waited at the table while Eunhye nipped to the toilet. After she left, I was approached my a random European lady who asked me if I wanted to buy any birthday cards. It was seriously weird because we were in a not posh, but not cheap restaurant. I politely declined and didn't think too much of it. Can you guess the outcome of the story?!
Anyhow, Eunhye returned and we left the restaurant. After around 2 minutes of leaving the restaurant, Eunhye stopped and said she had left her phone on the table.......*BOOOm
It was actually at that exact moment everything clicked and I knew 99% that her phone had been stolen from that crazy woman. (I normally check behind to see if I've left anything and I was pretty certain nothing was on the table) Anyhow, yeah, it was right. The phone was stolen.
It was so infuriating because we had been so careful in places like the underground and Camden market for example, but we had not expected at all, our valuables would be preyed upon in a restaurant. It was just in the 10 minutes that Eunhye had gone to the toilet too. >_<
Worst was the phone was only a few months old, a Galaxy note. I think Eunhye was most gutted about losing her photos more than anything. It really made the trip a tad sour. >_< So, watch out for your valuables, EVERYWHERE. These people are so professional at this. Did you know 300 phones are stolen in London a day?! Worst is, even if you blacklist your phone after, the phone is still useable in other countries. Just always be careful!!
Anyhow, thanks for reading lovely! ^^ More posts to follow like my experience at Harry Potter world! Happy Monday!
